I blogged recently about brazenly accomplished daytime jewel robbers in Paris, France. However, a Berlin cat burglar on January 25th refined the art of grabbing precious stones even further — by being an identical twin.

Four men lifted millions of dollars in jewels and watches from a “Kaufhaus des Westens” department store, the second largest chain in Europe after Harrods. They entered an upstairs window at night, descended a rope ladder and evaded motion detectors, leaving behind a glove containing DNA.

German criminal procedure does not authorize utilization of the cutting-edge technology necessary to distinguish between identical twins; so this may turn out to be one man’s perfect crime. That is unless it is proven his brother was there, too!
